According to Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, the statewide ban on evictions will be phased out by the end of August, 2021. Governor Pritzker announced the expiration date during a press conference on July 14, 2021. "On July 23, the Governor will issue an Executive Order that allows eviction filings against covered persons to begin on August 1," Pritzker's office said. "The current prohibition on enforcement of eviction orders entered against covered persons will remain in place until August 31.
